Washington, D.C. - The Nations Capital
October 23-November 1, 2010
In 1790 the Captial District was signed into existence. The centers of all three branches of federal government in the US are located here including Congress, President and Supreme Court. Washington is home to many national monuments and museums which are primarily situated around what's known as the National Mall. We had a great time enjoying the city and learning the history of the U.S.A.
Our Accommodations - Greenbelt Park
We found a fantastic park very close to Washington, D.C. called Greenbelt Park. It was only a 5 minute drive to the parking lot for the subway and then we could ride the rail into downtown Washington.
Baltimore, Maryland - Blue Moon Cafe
On a famous TV program called Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives, we saw a featured cafe serving up a popular favorite called
captain crunch french toast. Since we were so close to Baltimore, we decided to try it out ourselves. It was outstanding!
Photo's of Washington, D.C.
There are so many classic monuments and icons to see here! We saw most of all the major points of interest and really enjoyed immersing ourselves in the U.S. Capital.

Unfortunately, President Obama forgot about our luncheon appointment!
The National Mall
We explored the museums that line what is called "The National Mall". We visited the Natural History Museum and Air and Space Museum. There is a lot to see and do here!
Ben's Chilli Bowl
Leave it to us to discover a famous eatery. This restaurant has been in the same location since 1958. They're famous for their "half-smoke with chilli" (sausage in bun topped with chilli). Bill Cosby comes here frequently and President Obama dropped in recently to have a bite!
