Sainte Anne, Martinique
January 16 - 22, 2023
Our last stop in Martinique was the southern most area of the island to the little village of Sainte Anne. This quant little fishing village bustles with tourists and day trippers but gets much quieter as the evening rolls around. This area is famous for "Martinique's best beach" called Plage de Salines and the other pretty bays that dot the coast. This area is our favorite of the places we visited in Martinique, mainly because of the chill vibe here and the easy access to pretty beaches.
Our Accommodations
There seem to be slim pickings of places to stay within our budget but we managed to find a basic Airbnb apartment just a 10 minute walk to the local Sainte Anne beach and a 20 minute walk to the village centre. It was a quiet neighbourhood and it met our needs.

Trace des Caps Trail to Plage de Salines
The Trace des Caps trail is a network of pathways that extends 27km around the southern peninsula of Martinique. We walked a small portion of it from the village of Sainte Anne to Plage des Salines. It was roughly 4 km's one way of pathway through the coastal forest and along the coastline. Dotted along the way were many bays and coves to dip your toes into and maybe have a bite to eat. We really enjoyed our day!
