Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
January 21-24, 2012
From the highlands of Costa Rica to the Caribbean...the weather was a shocker! It is very humid on the Caribbean coast but also very beautiful. From San Jose, we boarded a bus and headed for the small town of Puerto Viejo. The town is definately bustling with tourists, but has nice beaches and is a cute place to spend a day or two.
Our Accommodations - Cabinas Jacaranda
It was very busy when we arrived but we found a room to share at a place called Cabinas Jacaranda. Set among a nice jungle garden with colorful tiled walkways, we had a nice room with a private veranda!
Punta Uva and Manzanillo Beaches
Punta Uva was a really nice beach but the waves were quite rough. Playa Manzanillo in the town of the same name, seemed like everything you've imagined a Caribbean coastal beach in Costa Rica!
