Point Reyes National Seashore and Muir Woods, California
November 19, 2009
The Point Reyes National Seashore is quite spectacular and so is the surrounding area. We had an action packed day and all of it was amazing and beautiful! Our day included: A walk along Point Reyes National Seashore, a walk to the sea lions lookout, a walk through Muir Woods National Monument, and an English fish and chips dinner to end the evening!
Our Accommodations - Olema RV Resort
Our campground in Olema was called Olema RV Resort and was centrally located to all the surrounding activities, making it a good home base.
Point Reyes National Seashore
An idyllic walk along the sand, Point Reyes National Seashore was a lovely way to enjoy the ocean breeze!
Sea Lion Lookout and Ocean Bluff Hike
This was an amazing walk and the scenes were breath taking!
Point Reyes Lighthouse
The Point Reyes Lighthouse has a interesting history and a very pretty perch on the bluff.
Muir Woods National Monument (Redwood Trees)
The state has done a magnificant job in developing and preserving this area of redwood trees and maintaining The Muir Woods National Monument. Lovely wooden bridges meander all through the redwoods with small creeks and birds playing their lulling tune. It was extremely serene and peaceful. Its too bad we arrived just before dark, because we didn't have much time to stroll through the area.
English Fish and Chips
We were recommended by a park ranger to eat a nearby pub called The Pelican, just a minute up the road from Muir Woods. When we arrived, the fire was burning and our meal was devine. Nice end to the day!
