Day Trip to Marie Galante, Guadeloupe
November 27, 2022
Just off the coast of Guadeloupe is the island of Marie Galante. And next to her, a tiny set of islands named Iles des Saintes. We decided to do a day trip and explore Marie Galante. Its an easy ferry ride from our marina in St Francois, a 50 minute crossing (albeit on some choppy waters) to arrive on a very sleepy little village on a Sunday morning. Since the bus system is sporadic and almost non-existent on Marie Galante, we needed to rent a car to visit the most popular beaches. After a coffee and chocolate croissant at the pier, we set off for the day.

Ferry Crossing with Iguana Beach
We hop on the Iguana Beach ferry from St Francois for our fairly choppy 50 minute crossing.
It's an early departure at 7:05am, in time for a sunrise!
And once we land at Marie Galante, we take our time with a coffee and croissant.

The Beaches of Marie Galante
There are so many beaches that its hard to hit them all...We did manage to stop at Plage de la Feuillere, Anse de Mays, Anse Canot...And they are all the tropical beauty you'd imagine!
