Little Corn Island, Nicaragua
April 16-26, 2012
We're almost a little reluctant give away the secret about Little Corn Island but we can't keep her all to ourselves! Being on Little Corn Island felt liked being shipwrecked on a deserted island or like being on an episode of "Lost". Its very small and has no cars but you can easily walk the entire island on jungle paths. The water is so warm and clear and the most amazing colors of turquoise and blues. Tourism hasn't quite sunk its teeth into this beautiful island making it a very unique experience. Best of all, it was a fantastic way to end our ten month Central American adventure doing many of the things we love most: swimming, snorkeling, reading in a hammock, and simply gazing out at the ocean. This was definately a highlight of our trip and we feel so grateful that we were able to enjoy it!
Our Accommodations - Little Corn Beach and Bungalow
We discovered a fantastic little gem called Little Corn Beach and Bungalow. This was definately the best place to stay on the island. Its owned by an American couple who opened in 2009 and have done a wonderful job manicuring the grounds and creating a terrific atmosphere. We were so happy to find this little Eden and we ended up spending a lot of our time here lounging and relaxing.
