Lake Powell at Glen Canyon National , Page, Arizona
May 28-31, 2010
Lake Powell is a long and large dammed lake that extends from Northern Arizona into Southern Utah. This lake and its canyons, is what encompasses The Glen Canyon National Recreation Park. There are some areas of Lake Powell that are amazing to see because of the snaking waterways and high canyon walls; however, most of these areas can only be accessed by motorized boat and then require a kayak to continue. We opted to enjoy a nice area of Lake Powell located near the town of Page.
Our Accommodations - Lone Rock Campground
Within the national recreation area, there were several campgrounds at the main marina's but we opted to stay at a primitive camping area located right along the shores of Lake Powell called Lone Rock Campground. It ended up being a nice spot with views of the water and close to town.
