Kodachrome Basin State Park, Utah
June 8-10, 2010
We both have come to fall in-love with slot canyon hikes. They're some of the best experiences we've had soo we headed to a slot canyon called Willis Creek nearby Kodachrome Basin State Park.
Our Campground
We actually stayed our first night at a free BLM camping spot which was quite nice. The next morning, we moved over to Kodachrome Sate Park which had a very pretty campground and was really well maintained and cared for. We really liked the surroundings of this campground with huge red sandstone mountains and lots of trees for contrast.
This was our free BLM camping spot our 1st night.
Below are photo's from our campground at Kodachrome State Park.
Hiking Willis Creek Slot Canyon
This was a pretty trail that meandered along a small creek and passed through 3 or 4 pretty slot canyons.
Hiking Within Kodachrome State Park
Kodachrome itself, had a number of unique sandstone "chimney's" and "pipes" and some great trails to explore these formations. Here are some photo's from the day we spent exploring Kodachrome.
