House Sitting Glasgow, Scotland
June 26-July 14, 2013
Our final house sitting assignment in the UK, is in the city of Glasgow, Scotalnd. We're caring for a lovely home very close to the city centre and caring for 2 black labs named Maisy and Oscar, and 3 cats named Ruby, Max and Dobbie. The home owners and their children are warm, kind and generous people and they're a fun loving family that we enjoyed getting to know. Our time in the United Kingdom is coming to an end...Hard to believe how fast time flies. Its been a wonderful adventure and we've loved every minute of our time here. We've met so many wonderful and amazing people and everyone we encountered across the entire country have been extremely friendly, helpful and hospitable. We've seen a diverse range of terrain and we've seen a LOT of rain...but even some wonderful sunny days! Its been a wonderful experience.
The Property and Pets
We're caring for 2 fun dogs: Oscar and Maisy. And 3 sweet cats: Dobbie, Max and Ruby.
Walks in the Fields
We have lots of wonderful trails very close to the house that we take the dogs for their walks in the morning and afternoon.
Horse Lessons Riding British Style
The home owners have two horses which are kept at stables about 15 mintues drive from the house. They generously arranged for a riding lesson so we could learn the art of riding British Style. It was definately difficult to learn the "rising trot" which required a lot of coordination. We had a great time and absolutely loved it!
Stirling Castle, Scotland
July 8, 2013
The famous Stirling Castle is a short drive from Glasgow. The castle has a lot of history and dates back to the 1500's. Some of the rooms have been restored to their original state back in the days when it was occupied by Queens and Kings. We really enjoyed our tour of the castle and it was a beautiful sunny day which made it even better!
Loch Lomond National Park, Scotland
July 9, 2013
Just north of Glasgow and only a short drive from the city is the beautiful area of Loch Lomond National Park. The loch (lake) is very large and the whole area is surrounded with forrests, bogs and lakes. We drove to the east side of Loch Lomond to an area called Cashell and walked a 2.5 hour loop with great views of the water. And, it was another beautiful sunny day!
