Franconia Notch State Park, New Hampshire
September 23-24, 2010
Franconia Notch State Park is located within the fabulous White Mountain National Forest and near the town of Lincoln. We were completely in awe of the beautiful and vibrant colors of the changing leaves which had become more dramatic in the last few days. Franconia Notch is a spectacular mountain pass traversed by a unique parway and for 8 miles I-93 winds the Franconia mountain ranges.
Our Accommodations - Hancock Campground
We found a perfect location within the White Mountain National Forest called the Hancock Campground which was ideally situated to the town of Lincoln and only a short drive to the various stops within Franconia Notch State Park.

We took advantage of the Cannon Aerial Tramway up to the top of White Mountain for views of the range and valley below.
We also walked the Flume Gorge Trail which was a lovely walk through the woods to a spectacular gorge that was found in the 1900's.
