Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico
April 18, 2010
Near the town of Carlsbad, is a land of rocky slopes, cactus, grass and thorny shrubs. Its amazing to know that beneath this landscape are more than 119 known caves all formed when sulfuric acid dissolved the surrounding limestone. We visited Carlsbad Cavern National Park which was our second experience of these wonderous underground worlds and thought it was an amazing highlight.
Touring Carlsbad Caverns
The morning we headed to the Carlsbad Caverns, it was a rainy and foggy day which was perfect for spending the whole day inside a cave! Touring the cave is all self-guided and there was hardly anybody there so it was like having the whole place to ourselves.
