Cafayate, Argentina
March 15-24, 2016
Most wine drinkers know about the Mendoza region in Argentina famous for its malbec's but Cafayate in the northern part of the country is a fast rising star specializing in "torrontes" a drier white wine with fruity aromas! The region has a collection of international bodegas such as Vasija Secreta, La Rosa, and Nanni (organic bodega) and mega produces Etchart and Esteco. Cafayate is a quaint laid back place with bodegas in easy reach either by walking or cycling making it a fun place to explore while enjoying white wines, locally produced goat cheese and fresh breads! We spent 10 days here enjoying the wonderful courtyard of our hostel, the sunshine and tasty wines.
Our Accommodations - Rusty K Hostel
The Rusty K Hostel was very centrally located and has a beautiful courtyard with wine grapes overhanging on arbors and plants and flowers dotting the perimeter. Lots of comfy outdoor seating and great ambiance to enjoy your wine and cheese.
